Military facilities
cover a wide range and types of installations from BEQ/BOQ's to
Headquarters to Recruitment offices. Each location has unique art
requirements.
BEQ/BOQ
Residential
art programs can be used to de-institutionalize and personalize similar
spaces. Recognizing
that a housing project will be occupied by all male or all female
residents makes a marked difference on the type of art images selected.
Appropriate images for a male residence may include strong bold lines
and colors while images in a female residence may be of softer line
and palette.
When
images are selected based on the viewing population, a facility
is able to personalize similar spaces.
Headquarters
These
spaces are often occupied or visited by General Military Officers.
Art programs that depict American symbolism, patriotism and appropriate
historical images can give unique identity to specific locations,
thus making the art program unique to a location and it's occupants.
Recruiting
Office
Here
young Americans come to find out more about armed forces opportunities
or to enlist in serving their country. Art programs that illustrate
all military branches and military ideals, can help visitors understand
their choices, as well as what is expected of them both physically
and mentally. Motivational art is often appropriate in these locations.
